Abstract

In Australia’s higher education community, roughly a quarter of international students come from a Chinese background. However, there’s a noticeable gap in academic interactions tailored for this cultural group. Our network is dedicated to bridging this divide.

We serve as the leading platform championing the interests of scholars and individuals who are at ease with Chinese contexts and are keen on engaging in academic-centric events concerning Australia-China relations.

Connect – Collaborate – Impact

We aim to amplify academic dialogues and partnerships among scholars, institutions, industries, and communities in both Australia and China.

Aim and Scope

The ACSN is committed to offering a collaborative space for academics, research institutions, and associated stakeholders. Through the exchange of research resources, expertise, and experiences, our objectives encompass:

Scholars and society

  • Strengthen scholars’ ties to the wider community by offering training in media engagement, public presentations, and content creation.
  • Enrich public understanding through science popularization activities spanning various disciplines and research areas.

Scholars with scholars

  • Amplify the visibility of academic achievements, including but not limited to publications, grants, ethical considerations, project insights, and successful collaborations through platforms like doctoral symposiums, media articles, and social media discussion groups.
  • Facilitate the exchange of research experiences and resources.
  • Foster camaraderie and networking within the academic community.

Scholars and industry

  • Champion the translation of research into practical applications by bridging the gap between scholars and industries and endorsing relevant resources.
  • Highlight opportunities such as grants, entrepreneurial initiatives, job openings, sponsored research projects.
  • Organize events like industry visits, subject-specific seminars, and showcases of research innovations.
